In Memorial, Perry Morgan

Perry Morgan, 57, President of Landmarks of DeKalb County, passed away at his home in Fort Payne July 16, 2007.

Serving his first term as Landmarks President, Morgan had been a member of the Board of Trustees for several years prior to his death.

An avid historian, Morgan served as a consultant for several museums and other organizations. In addition to serving on the Landmarks Board of Trustees, Morgan spearheaded several projects conducted by the local group.

After Landmarks acquired the former one-room school house at Council Bluff, Morgan oversaw many of the restoration undertakings.

Funeral services were held July 18, from Rainsville Funeral Home. Burial followed in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include: brothers, Butch (JoElla) Morgan, Don (Shirley Kay) Morgan, twin brother, Trammel (Judy) Morgan, all of Fort Payne; nephews, Virgil, Joshua, Matthew and Andrew Morgan; niece, Jennifer Morgan; nine great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jay P. and Dorothy Morgan.
